How not to hang a bird feeder

Squirrels and chimpmunks have great leaping ability. I found this video on youtube which shows first how not to hang a bird feeder. The second part of the video shows what happens to a hungry chimpmunk when the feeder is hung the correct distance from any object a squirrel can leap from. Enjoy the show!

Can you belive how far this little birdseed steeling chipmunk can jump?

The Yankee Flipper gives squirrels the bird

With it's large polycarbonate tube filled to the top with delicious sunflower seeds, birds and squirrels are attracted to it like a magnet. Birds will find the large circle perch easy to use and with 4 feeding ports there is enough room for all. That is all, except squirrels! That large perch has a hidden surprise for the squirrels. The perch is calibrated to support both large and smal birds, but when a squirrel steps on the perch a micro switch turns on an electric motor, spinning the perch till it flips the squirrels off.
The electric motor is powered by a rechargeable power stick. Charging is only needed about once a month. It just depends on how many obits your squirrels can take before they give up.
